The True Crime Book Club resumes meeting for 2023!
Our first pick of the year is The Five: the Untold Lives of the Women Killed by Jack the Ripper by Hallie Rubenhold.
This book focuses on the lives of the five dead women rather than on the killer and his crimes. The author shines a light on the cultural conditions these women found themselves to be in and the series of events that would have led them to become misunderstood, misrepresented, and condemned by both a murderer and history. It is five mini-biographies spotlighting these identities that were discarded in favor of century long search for this infamous murderer.
This book club meets on the last Tuesday of each month, we recommend that new members register to receive information about each book selection and meeting.
