Join Walter Green, Jr. to hear about his recently published book, The Nashville and Decatur in the Civil War. The N&D was in operation five months before the start of the Civil war and 17 months before the Federals took control of Nashville and the railroad. Running through Central Tennessee to Alabama, the highly contested line passed through Confederate-held territory, where rebels and their sympathizers continually sabotaged bridges, trestles, and tracks. This book is the first full-length work on the N&D Railroad and speaks of the importance of the Western Theater plus the significant military activities in the region.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Walter Green, Jr., is a retired professional civil and structural engineer who has written documents for use by the City of Franklin and for publication in the local historical journal. He lives in Franklin.
THE NASHVILLE AND DECATUR IN THE CIVIL WAR will be for sale at the event for $35, payable by cash, check, or Venmo. There is no requirement to purchase a book.
