The Annual Tennessee Poets Day was established in 2017 and an "all-day" poetry event organized by Poets From the Neighborhood (PFTN) to celebrate April as National Poetry Month. This is just one of PFTN's many community outreach volunteer efforts with outstanding poetry events. It is FREE and OPEN to the public of all ages. All events are recorded and aired by the auspices of Williamson County Television on WC-TV and online at a later date.
The on-site celebration will be on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Williamson County Public Library's Main Branch at 1314 Columbia Avenue in Franklin.
Bring your brown bag lunch and the poetry enthusiasts in your family, aspiring poets among friends and students to enjoy a whole day of excellent poetry. Poets From the Neighborhood looks forward to seeing you for our 9th Annual TN Poetry Day celebration. The full agenda, including a special lecture and appearances by the County Mayor, Honorable Rogers Anderson, and Poet Laureate Henry L. Jones, can be found online and on the informational flyer. Door prizes will be announced at the end of the day.
Sign up at the door to read an original poem of yours at the Open Mic Session.
PFTN Guidelines: All poetry readings on TN Poets Day Open Mics, and virtual or in-person programs must be your original work, family-friendly, and with clean language (no profanity).
Snacks will be provided.
