The Williamson County Public Library System is open with restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Our College Grove Branch will not reopen and only offers Holds-2-Go.
Holds-2-Go curbside service is available at all Library Branches.
- Main Library in Franklin in the morning, Monday to Saturday, from 8:30-10.
- Fairview and Nolensville offer curbside services, Monday to Saturday, from 9-10.
- Bethesda and Leiper’s Fork Branches offer curbside service Tuesday to Friday, from 10-11 and on Saturdays from 9-10.
Patrons may enter the Main Library in Franklin: Monday-Thursday from 10 to 7, Fridays and Saturdays from 10-5:30, and Sundays 1-5:30. All other Branches except College Grove are open pre-pandemic hours of operation.
Face masks are required in all County facilities per the most recent guidance from the County Mayor's Office. Face masks are to cover from the nose to the chin and are not to be removed during your Library visit for the protection of staff and other visitors. Exemptions to this requirement will be in accordance with the previous public health declarations.
Some Library Branches and areas of the Main Library have a smaller occupancy level due to the size of their Branch and Departments. Everyone should continue to social distance up to a minimum of 6 feet from persons that one does not live with in all areas.
Library patrons have access to all public areas of the facility excluding the Meeting Room, Activity Room, and Learning Center. These areas are in use by the Library for quarantining materials and furniture storage. Visitors should look online at the Library website for their materials so they can quickly locate and borrow them. Visits should be limited to one hour or less.
Other changes include:
*It is recommended that visits be limited to one (1) hour. This time limit may be enforced in smaller spaces at the Main Library and at our Branch Libraries to mitigate the risk of Covid-19 spread and to enable usage by a greater number of our community members.
*Meeting rooms are currently being used by the Library and not available for bookings.
*Directional signage for moving about the Library is posted on shelves and other areas.
*Library personnel are wearing face masks and/or face shields. Library personnel are working behind plexiglass shields while working at service desks. The public is not allowed on the staff side of the service desk and plexiglass.
* 6-foot distance markers are on the floor at the service desks.
*Staff will look up materials and provide call numbers for the public. Patrons may look for the books themselves or stay at the desk while a staffer retrieves the materials.
*6-8 computers are available on the second floor of the Main Library.
*Cleaning of the high-touch areas occurs throughout the day.
*Seating is reduced to allow for social distancing.
*Suspension of face-to-face services such as story times, exam proctoring, notary service, and one-on-one assistance at the computers. Please visit the website to find services that have moved online at http://wcpltn.org.
*The train table in the Children’s Department and other interactive activities are stored away.
*AWE stations in the Children’s Department are unavailable.
*Food and drink are not allowed in the facility.
*Water fountains are unavailable.
All materials are available on Library shelves after a 3-day quarantine. Patrons should take appropriate precautions in handling items.
Patrons should use caution in handling magazines and newspapers as we cannot guarantee that there has been no prior use due to the open shelving. The Library does not have gloves to provide and these items are not quarantined. Online magazines are available via the free Flipster app and the Tennessee READS apps, Overdrive or Libby, plus they can be accessed via computer in the eLibrary.
The Williamson County Public Library System continues to expand digital offerings such as virtual Facetime Live Story Times, online programming, and virtual Reference appointments. Updates are also available by subscribing to your Branch’s online newsletter, https://www.wcpltn.org/277/Newsletter-Sign-Up, and by following WCPLtn on Twitter and Facebook. Further announcements regarding changes of hours and in services will be made via these channels.
