Join fellow True Crime enthusiasts at our book club on July 26 at 6p. The monthly meetings are held at the Main branch of the Williamson County Library in the second floor Learning Center on the last Tuesday of each month.
For our July meeting we will discuss The Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small Townby John Grisham. One of Grisham's true crime books, this is the true story of Ron Williamson, a former minor league baseball player who was wrongly convicted of the rape and murder of Debra Sue Carter in Ada, Oklahoma in 1988. Released in 1999, after serving 11 years on death row, Williamson was exonerated by DNA and other material introduced by the Innocence Project. This true crime bestseller, published in 2006, has been made into a six episode series and was released on Netflix in 2018. There are several copies of this book in our system, along with the audiobook on CD. The e-book and e-audiobook are also available at TN R.E.A.D.S. Registration recommended for new members. Please contact the Reference desk if all copies of The Innocent Man are checked out and you need one to read.
