[ARCHIVED] National Library Card Sign Up Month

September is National Library Card Sign Up Month, library logo on a library card shape

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month when libraries nationwide celebrate the valuable resources available with a library card.

From borrowing books, ebooks, and audiobooks to getting homework help, learning new skills, or attending a book club or story time, a library card helps everyone do more of what they enjoy. All without stretching their budget. Interested in trying a new hobby? The library can help. Are you thinking about starting or growing a small business? We offer books, audiobooks, and online resources from Data Axle for business.  Want to learn about your family history?  We have free access to Ancestry.com for genealogy enthusiasts.  Looking for your next read or movie?  Enjoy free digital reading materials, music, and movies.

Signing up for a library card is the first step toward academic achievement and lifelong learning for students.  A library card gives them access to the Peterson Testing and Career Center database, Transparent Languages, Tumblebooks, and more!

WCPLS, along with libraries everywhere, continues to adapt and expand services to meet the evolving needs of our community. To sign up for a library card or to learn more about the library’s resources and programs, visit the online library card application form to get started.

During September, WCPLS is running a special for new cardholders.  Three new cardholders added in the month of September will win a gift basket of goodies generously donated by local businesses!

There’s something for everyone at the Williamson County Public Library System.  Everybody should have a library card.  Don't wait. Sign up for one today!
