The African American Heritage Society's 2020 African American Exhibit, The Bostick Family: Journey To Freedom, will be on display during the entire month of February in the Special Collections Department on the seconnd floor. There will also be special displays in the cabinets next to the elevators on both floors.
Before the Civil War, about one hundred people were enslaved in the Triune area of eastern Williamson County by the John C. Bostick family. This exhibit traces three branches of descendants from the Triune Bostick family and their eventual migration to Illinois.
