Caring for a person with dementia requires different techniques than those needed to care for someone who is not cognitively impaired. Alzheimer’s Association support groups encourage attendees to share information, give and receive mutual support and exchange coping skills. Attendees can offer practical suggestions based on their own experiences that may make caregiving easier. Sharing those ideas in a support group can prevent caregivers from “reinventing the wheel.”
Our Caregivers Support Group is free and facilitated by a trained Alzheimer’s Association volunteer. We meet at 10 am the 2nd Friday every month in the Learning Center on the 2nd floor. Registration is not required.
